Roles Overview
Now that your office is set up, it’s time for the best part — bringing your team on board! 🚀
If you haven’t finished setting up your office yet, check out our step-by-step guide to get your team started with SoWork.
In SoWork, there are a few ways to invite people. But before we get into that, let’s take a quick look at the three user roles:

SoWork has 3 types of member roles:
- Admins — Typically team leads or managers. They have full control over settings, members, and the office design.
- Teammates — Regular team members who can claim desks, decorate, and move freely in and out of the office.
- Guests — Visitors like clients, contractors, or interviewees who need temporary access to your office. They will need a Guest Pass and approval from a member to visit your office.
- Note: SoWork lets you invite unlimited external people to your meetings, and they’re not considered Guests since they won’t see your office — they’ll only experience a Zoom-like meeting view.

How to invite new Members
Send them an Email or Link
- Click the invite icon at the top of the left panel.
- To invite someone:
- Click the invite icon at the top of the left panel.
- Choose between:
- Invite via email – enter the teammate’s email and name.
- Invite via link – generate a shareable invite link.

Assign Them a Desk
- Click on any desk with a “Ready to Assign” pin.
- Enter the name and email of the person you want to invite.
- Click Send Invite – they’ll get an email and their desk will be ready when they join!

How to Remove Members
- Open the Settings Menu located at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar.
- Go to Settings > Member Roles
- Find the member you want to remove and click the more option button.
- Select Remove.
- Confirm.
- They’ll instantly be removed from the office.

Only Admins can remove Members from the office.

How to change Member Roles
- Open the Settings Menu located at the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Go to Settings > Member Roles
- Find the member you want to remove and click the more option button.
- Select Change Roles.
- Confirm.
- They’ll instantly be removed from the office.
