SoWork requires permission to access your microphone, camera, and screen recording for screen sharing. This article explains how to verify and update your system and browser settings to ensure everything functions properly.

The best way to use SoWork is with our Desktop App. If using a desktop browser, we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome.

Chrome Browser Settings

When you first enter a SoWork space in Chrome, you'll land on a welcome screen where you can test your video and audio setup.

  1. Click ‘Enable Permissions’. (Image 1)
  2. Select 'Allow while visiting this site' to allow SoWork to access your microphone and camera every time you enter your space. (Image 1)
  3. Enter your Office. (Image 1)

To view or change your Chrome permissions, click the icon to the left of the URL. Here you can toggle camera and microphone access on/off.

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any other video tools are completely closed before launching SoWork.
  2. Check your Chrome browser is up to date:
    1. Go to → Help → About Google Chrome.
  3. Give Chrome and SoWork permission to use your Microphone and Camera in your System Settings → Privacy & Security. (Make sure the permission toggle is ON)
  4. Refresh the page. </aside>

App Mac Settings

  1. Close the SoWork app completely.
  2. Open System Settings and select Privacy & Security. (Image 1)
  3. Under Camera, Microphone, and Screen & System Audio Recording, check whether the SoWork app or your browser has been granted permission. (Image 2, 3 & 4)
  4. Restart the SoWork app.
  5. Allow any notification or popup asking for additional permissions.

App Windows Settings

  1. Close the SoWork app completely.
  2. Open System Preferences and select Privacy & Security. (Image 1)
  3. Under Camera, Microphone or Screenshot and Screen Recording sections ****(Images 2, 3 y 4) check whether the SoWork app or your browser has been granted permission.
  4. Restart the SoWork app.
  5. Allow any notification or popup asking for additional permissions.
